For those who love details and organization, there can be so much joy and fulfillment found in planning your own wedding. However, when it comes to your wedding day, I have personally found great significance in brides and grooms passing the baton in order to truly soak up every moment. After all, you can spend months and countless hours planning for your wedding which comes down to a 4-6 hour chunk of one single day. Brides and grooms need to have the space and freedom to simply be present on their wedding day, not walking through the motions, but experiencing every detail and interaction with fresh eyes.
After planning every layer upon layer of detail of our outdoor wedding, I realized the week of our wedding that I could no longer be the person to carry out the final details and timeline of our special day...that is if I wanted to cherish any memories as a bride.
Here grew my passion for wedding coordination. I truthfully find great joy in carrying the weight and stress in order for others to have a sense of freedom. A wedding passes by so quickly and my hope is to bring a sense of peace and serenity to the process so in five, ten and even twenty years from now, couples can close their eyes and still remember the very taste their of wedding cake and feel the very excitement and butterflies as they did walking down the aisle. A wedding is the celebration and beginning of a sweet journey of commitment as a couple. Every couple should be able to freely embrace such a joyous moment.
For those of you wondering, "Why Amber + Oak?" Well, here you go. I personally find the most peace and serenity when I am in nature, specifically in the fall (when the weather is cooler!) with the ever changing scenery. When in nature, I can feel my soul exhale. In the midst of colors and solitude, I seem to find strength, joy, and rejuvenation while in awe of creation. That is the very essence I want to provide for all couples I work with; creating a space of peace and serenity so they can be fully present as they create memories of a lifetime.
To dig a little deeper into my heart and soul, the name Amber + Oak is also a very specific personal reminder to me that everything in this world is and always will change. Even though I find great beauty in the ever changing seasons, I want to remember to keep my focus on the one thing that never changes - God. I seem to find a lot of joy and acceptance in life through restless performance, always looking and craving for more to accomplish. So, Amber + Oak is also a reminder to myself that the very God-given gifts that have led me to this business (and do bring great joy!) cannot become my main focus or where I find all of my joy.
So, for those of you ready to pass the baton, reach out to Amber + Oak Coordinating. I would love to join you as your wedding countdown approaches!
